In January, a single federal judge shut down 2,200 miles of OHV trails in the Western Mojave Desert, wiping out 76% of that route network in one of the largest single off-road trail closures in American history.![]()

BlueRibbon Coalition’s WEMO Special Report shows this is about far more than one species or one desert. It exposes a broken system, endless litigation, and the kind of precedent that can spread far beyond California.
